“Au Revoir” to one of our sponsored jockeys.

It is with huge gratitude and some sadness that we say goodbye to our sponsored jump jockey, James Reveley.  As some of you know we have been sponsoring James for the past 6 years and as his career takes him to a more permanent base in France, both James and I have decided the time is right to end our sponsorship arrangement.

James career has gone from strength to strength in France with him finishing 4th in last year’s French Jockey championship so making a more permanent base in France can only help him achieve the ultimate prize of champion jockey.

Last year his 53 wins were his personal best in France amassing 2.3m Euros in prize money, no small sum when compared with the £1.3m of Richard Johnson’s season leading 164 victories here in the UK!

It has been fantastic to be part of James’ career over the past 6 years and I’ve known the family for even longer.  I am grateful for the way he has promoted our brand here and abroad and it goes without saying that we wish him all the very best in the future.  I shall definitely continue to follow his progress and his quest for champion jockey!

As a final farewell James has done a short Q&A for my blog;

Yes I will be coming back to ride for my Dad when I can and Ray Green.
I enjoy riding very good horses that are very well schooled.
The different types of obstacles such as Bull finches and large green hedges. The tactics (They tend to go a bit slower in France and quicken at the end).
A toss up between winning the Grand Prix d’automne on Reve de Sivola and winning the French champion hurdle for David Pipe on Un temps pour tout.
Grand National UK and Le grand steeple de Paris FRANCE
Very similar to the English weighing room, lots of taking the Mick!
In France Id have to say Auteuil which is home to the big French races and in the UK it’s Doncaster where I have had lots of success, mostly for Dad.
Device! He’s a winning machine and a very kind natured horse. I ride him out all the time and have ridden 7 groupe race winners on him.
